Disable windows snapping in Windows 7 (Aero Snap)

One of the most amazing feature in Windows 7 is without any doubt the Aero Snap! It is a window manager extension (builted in) that manages windows snapping to screen border. Do you want to maximize a window? Just drag it to the top of the screen! If you have a dual monitor configuration, this is a fantastic feature.

Anyway if you have a small monitor, it could be really annoying. Here is how to disable it.

  • Open the control panel
  • Click on “Make the mouse easier to use…” – well the classic mouse control pane :-)
  • Then click on “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen
  • Now click Apply and you are done! :-)

But are you really sure you want to disable this cool feature? :-)
